Puppies Are Here~ UPDATED!

5 Puppies~ 

2 males, 3 females 

Three were born June 18th the others born one at 12:30 am and one born around 3:00 am June 19th!

The litter between JJ & Diego arrived today around 12:30 pm. Beautiful, large, noisy little pupwielers! One male and one female. Not a huge litter but I am perfectly ok with that since they were born in the house. They will get tons of attention!


 Luke & Sage are going out of their minds: 
"One for us both to snuggle in our bed" 
"I want to climb in there and hold them"
"What are you doing to them? Don't lick them!" "It's OK Luke that's how she cleans them" "No Mom, that is not true!" From the kid who is generally the recipient of JJ's rather large, fast, slimy tongue!


JJ is doing well, she was pretty scared being her first litter. There was pain and there was mess in Mom's house. She was pretty sure she was in trouble. Poor thing! 
So, I calmly cleaned up the mess and climbed in with her, petting her, singing "Baby Mine" and helped the pups with the nursing thing. She was then able to relax and understood that she was still by good girl and I'm not mad. 
She has been drinking organic chicken stock and catching on to being attentive to something other then food.


Sadly, Auntie Pepper has not been welcome to check out the puppies. Even though she was the one who alerted me to the fact that they were here, JJ didn't make a sound.  Pepper has been beside herself pretty sure JJ was going to eat those puppies and that she should have them to take care of... You will meet Pepper, she is my kid dog/100% house dog, bunny belly soft with an old soul~




*PAUSE*

We now have 3 puppies, 2 females and 1 male~ The last one seemed huge! JJ is doing great now, gave her some cottage cheese and pumpkin, she has organic chicken stock to drink along with water. She has has a couple cups of her regular food as well. Bedding is all changed and clean. Puppies are all nursing. JJ did take a few minutes to go outside, run around and go potty... 
I think I will turn in for the night myself~
